In Memorium of Heath Ledger...

I'd like to say some things about him. I wish i could've known him, just like any actor (Pretty much) because he is such a great actor that would choose his roles that would be better than doing tons and tons of them. He is also, quite goooooooood lookin! haha. Anyways, i am pretty upset about his death. I do believe that it was an accident, and that it wasn't intentional. Yes, there was a $20 bill by his bed, and i do know what they use them for, but i don't believe he was that way. Oh boy! Quite a lot of trust in someone i never met! (eeek!) But i am truly shocked and sorrowful. Seriously. When i found out, from my mom, i was in total shock. Then i got a Text message from my friend Abbee, and she was all but in histerics. Poor Girl. Hah, In my 3rd hour class(Seminary) Stephen, who sits in front of me, wanted to have a class in Memorium of Heath Ledger. What a funny kid! Seniors are pretty cool kids.

So, in conclusion, God Bless your family, Heath, and may you rest in peace!

:'( I think i'm going to go watch The Brothers Grimm.

1,510 words later....

My Paper is done. So Here it is:

Stress: Everything you wanted to know...(and then some)
Stress can cause many problems that affect daily life by causing headaches, irritability, sickness, and insomnia. Maybe sometimes you’ve felt stress is like when giving a presentation at school or work, problems with family members, deadlines, and so forth. Your heart can feel like it is racing faster and faster. Stress can come from many sources in life, and affect people in many ways. There is always a way that you can tell if someone is stressing out because there is some signs. Many places like the internet, books, friends, etc, are designed to help people that have become overly stressed and are depressed or have other problems. Below are the symptoms and how to understand stress, some of the effects, steps on how to deal with everything, be able to manage stress and how it will help you.
Stress has many symptoms that can be identified fairly well, but to be able to identify it you must be able to understand stress and what causes it. Stress is “a psychological and physiological response to events that upset our personal balance in some way. When faced with a threat, whether to our physical safety or emotional equilibrium, the body's defenses kick into high gear in a rapid, automatic process known as the ‘fight-or-flight’ response. (1)” This is a good summary of what the overall definition of stress is. But we must dig deeper to get to know what causes stress. For each person it is going to be different, and will affect them in different ways. For a teenager who has a lot one his/her plate, they might take it well or not. It really depends on how well the person can cope with it. Stress is always good to a certain point because it can push you to do better. In life we have stressors that force us to adjust. Many people look at it negatively, but it can be a good thing, too. Many daily stressors can be your environment, family, work or school, or you’re social situation. There is also stress that can form just from you. You may worry a lot about something, or be pessimistic. You also can criticize yourself, have unrealistic expectations for yourself, and try to be a perfectionist, have a low self-esteem for yourself, or have excessive or unexpressed anger. All of these can cause problems. But if there are a lot of them all at once, then you can simply have a system overload. You can’t keep up with it all, and you just get overwhelmed. In the end, you must be aware of what is going on in your life and be able to tell what is troubling you, and how to control it.
Once you have understood what is causing your stress, you need to know what can happen. Recent research suggests that 60-90 percent of sicknesses are stress-induced. Stress can harm your cardiovascular system and immune system, causing you to get sick. Many things that can affect your health is Chronic Pain, Migraines, Ulcers, Heartburn, High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Asthma, PMS, Obesity, Infertility, Autoimmune Diseases, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and skin problems. That’s quite a lot of stuff to worry about, so knowing what can happen is important to know so you can prevent it. For emotional stress you can become depressed, anxiety, using drugs and alcohol, and eating disorders. In more serious cases such as the Post-Trauma Stress Disorder (PTSD), experiences where sudden, terrible things happen like disasters, assaults, accidents, or war. After it happens, people usually start to recover, but when they don’t they get PTSD. Some of the results of PTSD are Flashbacks, avoiding places, Hyper vigilance (Like a driver recently in a wreck becoming so focused on the road they don’t acknowledge a passenger), tension and irritability, and depression. If someone has Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, they need to get professional help. Knowing the effects of stress is an eye-opener that should make people realize how serious stress is and that it can get bad enough they should seek professional assistance.
Next, learning to deal with all the stress and side effects of it can be hard, but if you learn now it will be easier when the going gets tough. On a helpful site, Helpguide.org, they have put together 4 steps on how to manage your stress. Step one: Avoid Unnecessary Stress. If someone asks you to be in charge of something and you are already stressing out about something else, just say ‘no’. Take no more than you can handle. If there is someone that just drives you up the wall, ignore them! If someone is causing you a lot of stress, limit the time you have to deal with them or just end it. If there is a topic such as vehicles, politics or religion that get you fired up, politely excuse yourself. If it’s something that is repeatedly brought up in conversation, politely excuse yourself. Step Two: Alter the Situation. When something is bothering you, express what is bugging you. If a person or place is driving you absolutely mad, talk about it. If you don’t express yourself now, it will bottle up and get worse. Manage your time better; if you are running behind constantly you are going to be so stressed out because you’re not on time. Plan ahead so that you’ll have enough time to stop and smell the roses on the way to wherever you’re going. Step Three: Accept the things you can’t change. Many things are uncontrollable, like somebody’s attitude. You can’t change them, so just work on how you react to them. As the saying “What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger” says, look at challenges as an opportunity to grow. Look for the good side in any type of situation. Step Four: Adapt to the stressor. Will the problem be such a big deal in a week, month, or year? If it’s not worth getting upset over, then don’t! Don’t expect yourself to do perfect on every single thing. Avoiding perfectionism will make it so that you won’t have so much stress in your life. Make lengths that you can make reasonably and don’t set yourself up for stress. Be okay with what you can achieve. In the end, if you can listen and heed the council of the above steps, your life can change. A main point that was in a lot of the steps was to only bite off as much as you can chew.
Finally, ways to manage stress are innumerable. There are ways from Working out, taking a bath, listening to music, curling up and reading a book, spending time in nature, talking with a friend, and so on. Some ways are easier than others, and a technique that you can do solely on your own is learning to breathe deep and meditating, per se. What you must do is be in a comfortable position and close your eyes and try to relax. You pay attention to your beating, your chest and abdomen. Feel it more up and down, slowly, slowly, until you are completely using your lungs. Breathe through your nose, and see if your chest is moving in time with your abdomen. Inhale deeply, feeling the bottom of your lungs to the top slowly but still focusing on your breathing. Exhale through your mouth and focus on the sounds and feelings of your breaths. This exercise is to notice how you breathe and for you to notice how much lung space you have. Another exercise is a Complete Natural Breathing, which utilizes how much lung space you have and how to use it. You sit or stand with GOOD posture, breathing through your nose. Then you inhale and fill the bottom of the lung, then middle of the lung, then top of the lungs. You hold your breath for a few seconds. Then while you exhaling, relax your chest and abdomen. This method relaxes you really fast if you can concentrate on it. It will help you calm yourself down. You can do this practically anywhere, even if it is loud and busy. By doing something about the pressure on you, you will be healthier, feel better emotionally, and so much more!
In conclusion, stress in the daily life can be quite the hassle. So why not take some time out of your hectic day, and do something about it. Make a plan of what you can do to solve your problems, and how to cope with everything instead of letting it all catch up to you at once. Finding something is wrong, knowing what to do about it, how to do it, and actually doing something about it will help you have a much easier going life. Don’t sweat the small stuff, it’s all small stuff, and if you can’t fight or flee, flow. In the words of Louisa May Alcott, “Keep your sense of humor. There's enough stress in the rest of your life to let bad shots ruin a game you're supposed to enjoy.”

So tonight...

Was a Boys Basketball Game agains Bonneville Bees. Yes, the bees. I was very excited to go, but just my luck. My friend cindy couldn't go, her mom was making her do something else. And Aleisha was going with a friend. So if she was going with friends, what does that make me? Right. The impasse who has nobody to go to the game with. Lozer! Exactly.

So i called some other friends, and what would you know. I can't get ahold of them. What the crap! ya know?!? Then to make it alllll better... Ha. I get stuck at home, with the parents. No offence mom, but i need to get out and DO stuff! I'm just tired of sitting around and doing nothing! Kendall and Christy showed up a few minutes ago(okay about half an hour ago) and now they're leaving. What was the point of coming? Unless they were at her parents house. that makes sense then.

.....So yet again, its a Ugly Betty Night, chillin with the parentals......

OW

Cindy, Aleisha, and i went sledding yesterday. We went to the little buttes, and cindy ran right into a tree. She bruised her knees. Then, The day before, Aleisha went snowboarding and fell on her butt and hurt it pretty bad. Then a few minutes later, i came down the steep spot, and i was doing really good. Then i hit this dip, and i felt my back crunch. I think it might've Compressed it. But now i got it to pop earlier, but now my muscles are really sore.

Well i better go, parents are gettin' grouchy...
